The Bongiorno Group – Building Connection Through Service

Genuine impact in every visit: how the Bongiorno Group helps build a more caring, connected community.

Bongiorno

A heartfelt thank you from all of us at Ozanam House

For several years, the Bongiorno Group has been a valued part of the Ozanam House community, bringing not just practical support but genuine warmth and connection to our residents. What began as a team volunteering initiative has grown into a meaningful tradition – one that reflects a deep commitment to community and to each other.

Through their regular visits, the team has built strong connections with both residents and staff. Volunteering has offered an opportunity to step outside the day-to-day routine and into the lived experiences of others, fostering empathy, insight and a shared sense of humanity.

One story stands out. A few years ago, a younger team member took part in a volunteering shift that left a lasting impression. The experience opened his eyes to the challenges faced by people experiencing disadvantage, shifting his perspective in a profound way. Since then, he has returned to Ozanam House each Christmas Day to volunteer – and has even brought his parents along to share in the experience, turning a single shift into a family tradition.

The positive impact of volunteering is felt across the team. After each shift, staff return to the office with a renewed sense of gratitude and purpose. Many describe their time at Ozanam House as both grounding and uplifting – a chance to connect with people from all walks of life and to contribute in a way that feels genuinely impactful, even in just one afternoon.

To everyone at the Bongiorno Group: thank you. Your generosity, compassion and continued commitment help create a more connected, caring community. We are proud to walk alongside you.
