This Homelessness Week, we’re proud to spotlight a partnership that is making a real difference.

Since 2023, we’ve been working with Community Housing Limited (CHL) to support Victorians in need — including young mothers, students and people with disabilities — by providing long-term, affordable housing and the critical support needed to sustain it.

From Prahran to Sunbury, 17 individuals and families have already found safety and stability through this initiative — a powerful reminder that housing alone isn’t enough. It’s the combination of secure shelter and wraparound support that helps break the cycle of homelessness.

“At the last Census, nearly 31,000 Victorians, including 6,800 children, were experiencing homelessness. This highlights the urgent need for partnerships like the one between CHL and VincentCare to provide housing and support across Victoria,” said Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald AM, Group CEO, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria.

Collaborative, outcomes-focused efforts like this are more vital than ever.
